Bourbon County Jail Mugshots
The Bourbon County Sheriff's Office publishes booking photos on the public current inmate roster when a photo is available. The 48-hour release list also showed images in inspected records. List entries use thumbnail photos, while profile pages show a larger booking image above core booking fields. The roster is run by the Bourbon County Sheriff's Office for the Bourbon County Jail / Bourbon County Sheriff's Office Kansas Detention Center, so it is the official first source for county jail mugshots.
There was no separate official recent-bookings gallery or daily photo report located in the research. The county's roster system is the photo source. That means photo access follows the same split as the jail roster: Current Inmates for people held now, and 48 Hour Release for people recently released. A photo may disappear from easy public view when the person is no longer in one of those views, or it may be withheld under Kansas public-record discretion.

Find Bourbon County Mugshots
The most direct way to find a Bourbon County booking photo is to search the sheriff roster by name, then open the profile. If the booking is very recent, the public entry may not be visible yet. If the person was released, the 48-hour release view may still show the image for a short time. If neither list shows the photo, the next official paths are the jail phone, the sheriff records custodian, and a written Kansas Open Records Act request.

- Use Search By Name, or choose Show All and sort newest to oldest if the booking may be recent.
- Click View Profile to see the larger booking photo and the public profile fields.
- Check the 48 Hour Release view if the person may have left the jail recently.
- Call the jail at 620-223-2380 when current custody, bond, charges, or case numbers affect the next step.
- For a photo not online, contact sheriff records custodian Ann Clarkson or use the county KORA request route.
Bourbon County Photo Records
A Bourbon County booking photo appears with a small set of public booking fields. The inspected profile did not publish full date of birth, street address, height, weight, court date, warrant number, case number, or housing unit. The photo and demographic fields can help identify a record, but the booking number, arresting agency, and booking date are usually more useful for a records request or jail call.

Bourbon County Release Mugshots
The sheriff's roster gateway provides a separate 48 Hour Release list for people released from the detention center within the last 48 hours. Research found that the release list shows release date, booking date, charges, bond, images, and profile links in the same general roster style. It is not an archive of every past Bourbon County booking. It is a short release window.

That release view is useful for recent changes, but older booking photos should be handled through records requests or court-related expungement steps when appropriate.
Are Bourbon County Mugshots Public?
Kansas law should be stated carefully. Bourbon County does publish many booking photos on its sheriff roster, so current roster mugshots are publicly viewable when they appear there. But Kansas law does not require every mugshot to be open in every setting. The Kansas Attorney General's KORA FAQ says mugshots or standard arrest reports may be discretionarily closed under K.S.A. 45-221(a), and it cites Attorney General Opinions 87-25 and 98-38 for that point.
KORA starts from public access, then allows or requires closure for specific categories. For booking photos, the important point is discretion. A requester can ask for a Bourbon County booking photo, and the agency may need to cite the legal basis if it denies access. That is different from saying all jail photos are guaranteed public records.

K.S.A. 45-215 et seq. is the Kansas Open Records Act framework for public access to government records unless a law permits or requires closure.
K.S.A. 45-221 lists records not required to be disclosed, including criminal-investigation records and the discretionary basis applied to mugshots and standard arrest reports.

Bourbon County Photo Limits
Public roster photo access is narrower than many people expect. The roster can show a booking photo, name, booking number, age, gender, race, arresting agency, booking date, charge text, and list-level bond information. It does not show full date of birth, home address, housing unit, next court date, judicial officer, warrant number, or complete criminal history. If a booking photo is not on the roster, that does not always mean no photo exists.
What is and isn't public: Bourbon County publishes some jail mugshots through its roster, but Kansas KORA permits discretionary closure of mugshots and criminal-investigation records. Missing photos, older photos, and non-roster images should be requested from the agency that holds the record.
Request Bourbon County Photos
For a Bourbon County booking photo that is not online, start with the sheriff records route. Give the person's name, booking number if known, booking date if known, and the specific record requested. Ask for the response in writing when the answer affects court, employment, licensing, or an expungement file.
The county open-records page identifies the County Clerk as the designated Kansas Open Records Act contact for county records, with phone 620-223-3800 x100. Bourbon County says written requests are preferred for clarity and that a form is available but not required. Kansas records rules allow agencies to require written requests, proof of identity in some settings, and certification tied to name and address lists. They also allow fees for access or copies when authorized, but the research did not locate a Bourbon County booking-photo fee schedule.
Bourbon County App Photos
The Bourbon County KS Sheriff app is an official mobile channel. The Google Play listing says the app provides public information for press releases, inmates, and most wanted individuals, and also allows contact and crime-tip messages. The research did not verify an app-only mugshot field, so the app should be treated as a mobile access route for the same sheriff information categories, not as a separate promise of hidden photos.

The app may help when a mobile browser does not display the roster cleanly, while VINELink remains the better tool for custody-status notification rather than photo lookup.
Bourbon County Mugshot Removal
No official Bourbon County mugshot-removal page was located in the research. For an old, wrong, sealed, or expunged booking photo, the clean path is to deal with the originating record. Contact the sheriff records custodian for the jail record, use the county KORA process for written access or denial issues, and use the district court process when expungement or sealing is the legal basis. Kansas law allows a person arrested in Kansas to petition district court for expungement of arrest records in qualifying cases, including several mistake, dismissal, not guilty, and no probable cause situations.
A dismissal is not the same as automatic deletion from every public system. A booking record can exist even if no conviction follows. A court order, corrected agency record, or written agency response is stronger than asking a nonofficial site to change a copied image. Kansas and Federal Photos
The Bourbon County jail roster is not the Kansas Department of Corrections locator. If a person is sentenced to KDOC and transferred out of county custody, use KASPER to check location and status. KDOC says KASPER is updated daily excluding weekends, and its disclaimer says it is not a complete criminal-history source. KDOC records are statewide correctional records, not Bourbon County booking roster records.
Federal and immigration lookups have another limit. The Bureau of Prisons inmate locator and ICE ODLS are not county mugshot rosters. They can help locate people in federal sentenced custody or immigration detention, but they should not be described as publishing Bourbon County-style booking photos. No BOP, ICE, or USMS-specific detention facility was found in Bourbon County from official source searches. If a county roster says other agency hold, the holding agency may be the only source that can explain whether a later photo or detention record exists.
